I'M
Arya Haria
.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER AND
ADVENTURER

About Me.

Hey there! Welcome to my website. I am Arya Haria - a mechanical engineering student at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign.

I am originally from Mumbai but moved to the United States for my undergraduate degree.

Besides academics, I enjoy spending time in nature, playing basketball, and driving around town (even through the construction and water-logging of Mumbai!).

I am actively looking for job opportunities for Spring 2025 - please reach out if you have an opportunity for me.

I would love to talk to you - please feel free to write to me!

PROFESSIONAL

SKILLS.

Here are some things that I'm good at!

Computer Aided Design and Simulation

Throughout my career, I've mastered software such as Fusion 360, Creo, SolidWorks, and MATLAB. My time at Tesla and Kohler exposed me to intricate CAD models, enhancing my expertise in complex designs. Additionally, I possess practical knowledge of FEA and can understand CFD simulations.

Championing Effective Team Communication

I hold the conviction that effective communication is pivotal within any team. My commitment lies in fostering unity of understanding among team members. By ensuring the inclusion of everyone's perspectives and alignment between all stakeholders, I cultivate an environment where every team member feels empowered to voice their thoughts and make meaningful contributions.

Familiar with Shop Floor Operations and Diverse Machinery

My practical experience on the shop floor spans a spectrum of machinery, including Waterjets, CNC Routers, Woodworking tools, 3D Printers (FDM and SLA), and Laser Cutters. I've effectively applied these tools and techniques across numerous projects, refining my skills during my tenure as a Tech at the Siebel Center for Design.

Complementing Mechanical Engineering with Computer Science

Alongside my Mechanical Engineering degree, I'm pursuing a minor in Computer Science. In our rapidly evolving technological landscape, a foundation in CS holds significant potential. I've completed coursework up to Data Structures and possess hands-on coding experience in Java, C, C++, Python, and MATLAB.

Proficient in Human-Centric Design Principles

I have experience with designing for manufacturability, GD&T, position velocity analysis (PVA), dynamic force analysis (DFA), material selection, design of experiments (DOE), and selection and simulation of linkages. These tools collectively contribute to creating user-centered solutions.

Precision and Adaptability

As a mechanical engineer, I deeply appreciate the significance of meticulous attention to detail in my projects. I recognize that even the slightest imperfection or dimensional variance can render an entire prototype ineffective. As I navigate various career avenues, I remain highly adaptable to diverse industries and emerging technologies.
